Description
Woman At The Well and Christ Jesus Messiah The Owner of The Ranch Who Soon Will Come.
I feel this painting captures the story of Christ at the well talking to the Samaritan woman. The living water is over flowing. His hat is red. His shirt is red. His horse is red. His precious great drops of red blood are yet to be sweat in Gethsemane, to be shed by flagellum flogging, by vicious crown of thorns, by wicked nails in His hands and wrists and feet, by His great suffering on the Cross. He speaks quietly to this woman. He speaks kindly to all women. He champions all women. He loves each of us. He is the resurrected living Christ. All He asks is that we repent of our sins and come and follow Him.
My poem:
Woman At The Well and Christ Jesus Messiah The Owner of the Ranch Who Soon Will Come
I like to think the desert climate very hot,
Nevada, Arizona, Southern California, Samaria, Somewhere not up north,
Somewhere near the blistering Texas border, King Ranch country,
Sun beats down,
He sat there on his horse,
His hat was red,
His shirt was red,
His horse was red,
Not moving in the heat,
So unexpected,
Finding such a one just waiting,
Sitting on his horse in mid-day sun,
Beside the water tank,
She rode along,
She didn't hesitate,
For some strange reason, felt no fear,
She felt such peace,
Her horse was thirsty,
Drinking,
She was looking at this stranger from the corner of her eye,
And then He spoke,
So quiet, dignified, so gracious,
Sun beat down, upon her hat and back,
'twas very hot,
She sweat,
He spoke of cool and living water,
Never more to water horses at this well, or any well,
He said,
Are you greater than the rancher Jake who dug the well?
She asked,
And built the windmill there upon the hill, and piped the water to the tank,
She said,
The ranch has just been sold, I do believe,
She said.
They said in town 'twas bought for such a monumental price,
Paid more for this one than for any ranch that's known,
She said, not flippantly, or out of disrespect,
We are looking for this new owner bold,
This Christ, Messiah, Lord of lords, and King,
This Owner of the Ranch
Awe, don't you see,
He said,
That I am He,
He said.
How much I paid to buy this ranch includes my price for you,
you only vaguely understand how great the price I paid,
Yes, I AM HE, Messiah, Christ, The Lord of lords, The King of kings.
He spoke such goodly words, prophetic, loving words,
so kind, so patient, peaceful, quiet, so divine.
Go tell your husband, sister,
He did say,
But I have no husband, mister,
She did say,
Her curiosity now piqued,
He countered with the number five,
Five husbands, sister, have you had,
And this one, not your husband, sister,
She dismayed, to meet this prescient mister,
Someone who did know the very fibers of her soul,
He told her of her past before her birth,
He told her of her troubled life on earth,
He told her of her past and present marriage trials and pain,
He told her of her glorious destiny,
She wept. His love. His hope. His peace.
She reined her horse.
She rode to tell the cowboys at the house,
She rode to spread the news in town,
Is not this He? She cried, Who spoke with me?
He told me all I ever did,
Behold this MAN,
Come speak with Him and see now for yourself,
Is not this MAN THE OWNER OF THE RANCH?
